Another year is almost over. In just a few short days the year “AD 2010” according to the Gregorian
calendar will dawn, and with it bring unprecedented opportunities to not only our personal lives,
but also to our church family. As the year “AD 2009” comes to a close, perhaps we are not
completely satisfied with our circumstances or accomplishments. Maybe we do not think we grew
spiritually as much as we had hoped. Maybe our hopes and dreams for the year were all but
smashed. This morning as we stand at the threshold of a New Year, it is only fitting and appropriate
that we review our standing before God in Christ, and that we be reminded that in Christ, our God is
a God of second chances, a God who turns failures into successes.
